MIT announces the initiative for new production

MIT today has launched its initiative for New Manufacturing (INM), efforts throughout the Institute to Restore US Industrial Production with top technologies, strengthening the major US economic industry and ignition of jobs.

This initiative will tremble advanced research, innovative educational programs and partnerships with companies in many sectors, in an effort to help transform production and increase its impact.

“We want to work with large and small companies, in cities, small towns and everywhere between them to help them accept new approaches to increased productivity,” wrote President Mit Sally A. Kornbluth in a letter to the Institute community. “We want to intentionally design high -quality jobs for a person who brings new life to communities throughout the country.”

Kornbluth added: “Helping America to build the future of new production is a perfect task for a MIT – and I am convinced that there is no more important work we can do to meet this moment and serve the nation.”

The New Manufacturing Initiative also announced its first six members of the establishment consortium: AMGEN, FLEXTRONICS INTERNATIONAL USA, GE Vernova, PTC, Sanofi and Siemens. This initiative is only the latest efforts in the last decades of love for expanding American production.
